Called to Serve.

Brighten got his mission call and opened it on thanksgiving. He is called to the Florida Tampa Mission. He reports Feb. 24th. We are proud of him and will miss him.

Halloween

This Halloween Paetyn dressed up like a little piggy, perfect don't you think? We went to a trunk or treat to see grandma and grandpa and to get a little candy. We carved a little jock-o-lantern and she wore one of her favorite shirts during the day and it said "Daddy's Little Pumpkin." Teesha and some of her friends at school dressed up like Trolls.

Paetyn turns 1!

On Oct. 22 our baby turned 1. The day started out with a Birthday pancake made by Daddy. We didn't have her a birthday candle at the time so we had to improvise. She went to Mom's school just before lunch and got her nails painted. Then we met Dad at the park for lunch. She had a little bit of an eye infection that week so her eyes are a little goopy and squinty in the pictures. She had a little party on that Saturday. Oh yeah and dad saved her life at Walmart on her birthday, literally. To make a long story short, she was falling out of the cart head first and dad quickly swooped in and grabbed her by the pants when her head was millimeters from hitting the concrete floor. We love her and are so grateful for her and the joy she brings us.

Disneyland

This summer Chris's family all went to Disneyland for a big family trip. It was a lot of fun. Thanks to Mom and Dad for taking us all and helping with the kids. Grandpa even got to take Paetyn on her first ride on the Merry-Go-Round, I think Grandpa had an even better time than Paetyn. After Disneyland we went down to San Diego for a night and day. Paetyn loved the sand at the beach but not the water, it was kind of cold. It was a really fun summer, but now we are both down to the nitty gritty in school.

Our Trip to Cancun

This summer we had a wonderful trip to Cancun, and the best part was it was all expense paid. Chris earned it through Arctic Cat(work). The resort was fantastic, and all inclusive. There were a bunch of different restaurants that we could eat all we want of the great food and didn't have to pay anything. It was beach front and our room had a jacuzzi in it. We hope to go there again some day. We went scuba diving, we went to the water park, went to a local mall, swam, went sailing on a small sail boat from the resort, and just spent a lot of good time together. Teesha had some trouble with scuba diving, she couldn't even stay under unless Chris was holding her hand, what a nice husband!

Milestones

Paetyn started crawling June 5th, 2009. This was right before our vacation to Cancun and Teesha was worried that she would start crawling while we were gone. On this night we were getting home kinda late from some friends' house. We were changing her before we put her to be and she woke up, so we decided to giver her a bottle. After she got done with her bottle she just got on her hands and knees and started to crawl like she had known how to do that all along. Once we busted out the camera it took a little encouragement to get her to crawl.

Paetyn took her first steps July 26th, 2009 and has been getting braver and braver ever since. She is getting to the point to where she will walk a little distance before she gets down and crawls. This video is from tonight.

Chris' birthday

Chris turned 24 on monday shh he's sensitive about the subject! well sunday night I went to wrap his presents and discovered we were basically out of wraping paper except a little bit of Christmas paper. I guess Chris used the last of it and I didn't kno so I had to get creative! I wraped One of his presents in tissue paper and the others in Christnmas paper oh well I guess the wraping doesn't matter it's whats inside or is it? Anyway I wrote all over his Truck windows sunday night so he would get all kinds of obnoxious people honking at him haha secretly i know he loved it. I got up early Monday to make him breakfast in bed and suprized him by making a avocado shake along with it. I heard him talking to some one about how good they were in brazil so I found a recipe online that I thought would be good and i guess I was right cuz he said it was just like the ones in brazil. Then that night we did a cook out with Chris' family and had cake and ice cream. All in all he said he had a good Birthday!

Work work work!

We have been so busy lately doning things around the house. We planted our garden a few weeks ago and are pround to say our plants are actually growing! Yay! we are so happy about this we feel some what sucessful since last year we didn't really get anything to grow. We planted corn, watermelon, carrots, cucumbers, chilies, and tomatoes! We also planted A peach and apple tree. Chris has been working so hard on our garden he even made a little irrigation system so watering the garden will be easier and now thanks to Brady its buried in the ground. Chris also built a chicken coop so we could get our little baby chicks. We are do all these things to trying to be self sufficient and it has been alot of fun along the way!

Our big girl

Paetyn has been learning so much lately and I haven't posted about it so I figure it's time! First off Paetyn got her ears pierced. I have been waiting since the day she was born to get them done so i'm way excited to finally have them done. She had her 4 month appt and she weighed 16lbs 3oz she was 25 in long and her head was 43 1/4 that puts her in the 95th percentile for her head and weight and 75th for her length what a fatty huh? And that was a month ago! Since then she has learned to roll over and sit up, although the rolling over is only done when she feels like it she does sit up all the time! She has also started eating solids she eats pretty good except for green beans as you will see in the pics. We are excited to see all the new tricks she will learn in the next few months!

Valentines Day

This was our third Valentines day together and we are trying to be more frugal so we set a $25 limit.  Well Teesha did pretty well with the limit, but she did go over, so she labeled part of it with Paetyn's name to get by.  Teesha's gift took her forever to make, but it was awsome and very thoughtful.  Chris' sister was in California the day before Valentines Day and she text him a picture of a coach purse and asked if Chris had already gotten a gift.  Well originally Chris said he didn't want to buy one because it was way over the limit, but turns out the Coach Factory sale was having an awsome sale and the deal was unbeatable.  So, needless to say Chris went over the limit, but got this purse for less than $100 which is a steal.  We hired a babysitter and went to dinner and a movie together.
