Halloween 2011

THis Halloween chris was gone on a business trip to washington state so I decided Id take the kids to go visit my family. My family never gets to see the kids dressed up on Halloween so i figured this would be fun and probably the only time we get to do this. Paetyn has insisted for months that she wanted to be a butterfly so thats what she was this year and Jaden just wore his little skeleton pjs.
Its nice to be able to go visit family and have help with the kids. My little sister would get up and feed Jaden before leaving for school in the morning and my Dad LOVES babies which mean he took care of Jaden a lot(even when he was fussy) and my mom well she made all the meals and went with us to all the places we needed to go. It was fun but we were ready to come back home guess its true theres NO place like HOME!

chris and I went to a party a few days before Halloween

Paetyn turns 3

Paetyn had her 3rd birthday. I can't believe my little girl is 3 where has the time gone? She sure is a stubborn little thing but she has blessed our life so much and in so many ways. She is a GREAT big sister to Jaden and such a helper to me. She is Usually pretty grateful for things and is so easily pleased. She is smart some times a little to smart and can always make us laugh we Love her so much and are happy she is ours!
This year I decided we would do a little party for Paetyn and her cousins. It was a princess tea party. When the girls first got there they could choose a dress up then they got their hair done Then we did lunch and the tea party part, played pin the wings on tinker bell, had cup cakes and opened presents! It was a lot of fun Im so glad we did it. (the party was the day before her actual birthday)
Paetyn had a lot of cousins that traveled a ways so they could be there and we are so glad they did, it made it that much more fun and their moms were so much help to me. I have the best family on both sides

Paetyn said she wanted a Dora cake so this is what we made for her on her actual birthday

Fair Time 2011

Every Oct. we have our little county fair and every year chris has had to have a booth there for work. This year they decided not to do a booth which mad it so much nicer for us we were able to go and just have a good time. All the pictures are of Paetyn, Jaden just rode the stroller maybe next year he will be big enough to ride some rides!

This was a little roller coaster for kids! Paetyn had a ball on it she is such a little dare devil and that makes for one proud daddy:)

I swear every time this ride would fling her around the corner my heart would stop i thought she was going to get thrown out! of coarse she wasn't concerned one bit she was just cracking up.

little train ride

the mirror maze we thought she run into them all kinds but no she did really good she just wanted to get the top to go down the slide.

Jaden's blessing

We blessed Jaden on Sunday September 4th. Most of our family was able to make it for the special day. We Just bought a house and started moving the monday prior to the blessing day. Let me just say moving with a new baby and trying to get it all done in a matter of a few day so super stressful! But we were able to get everything in its place before people started arriving for the blessing.(I'll have to post about the move later) Chris did a great job as usual on the blessing. It was such a good sacrament meeting and the spirit was so strong. It was just one of those days thats sort of like heaven on earth and being able t remember whats REALLY important in life.

Meet Jaden

Where to start? I guess with the story of how our Jaden boy got here!
On Wednesday July 6th I had my last ultra sound to check growth on the baby. They said I still had a lot of extra fluid and he was 8lbs 7 oz which wasn't as big as I expected them to say. Then on Friday July 8th I had a Dr's appointment; I was 38 weeks 2days and I was feeling it to say the least:) Right before my Dr appointment I decided to push Paetyn in the cozy coupe car while running laps! Call me crazy, but I was hoping to get something going so hopefully I could get my Dr to induce me. I got to the office did the stress testing and as normal was showing contractions like crazy. Then I went back to meet with the Dr!
I had decided before I got there that I was going to see what she would do as far as inducing me. I knew she was leaving town in a few days and would be gone for a week. I was hopeful, but didn't really know what to expect! She asked me how I was doing and I said I was ready to have this baby. She said ok well lets check you. I was dilated to a 3 and she said, "do you want to have this baby tomorrow?" I almost fell off the table! "Are you serious? Uh ya!" She told me to go to the hospital at 6 the next morning! So that night I got a pedicure while Paetyn got her nails painted, cleaned the house, did all the laundry, and then we took Paetyn to McDonald's to play and eat while trying to explain to her what was going to happen the next day! She spent the night at Grandma's so we wouldn't have to wake her so early the next morning. I maybe got an hour or two of sleep that night because I was nervous. It was around 7 by the time we got into the labor and delivery room and got the antibiotics going! Those had to be in my system for about 4-6 hours before they would start me on pitocin. Paetyn came to visit that morning so she could see where I was, this was just before they started the pitocin. It was around 11:15 when they gave me the meds. They didn't think it would take long because I was already having contractions pretty regularly. Unfortunately they were wrong, the contractions weren't that bad and they just kept upping the meds, but it stayed about the same
:( By 6 pm I had only progressed to a 4. The Dr said she was going to talk to me about going home but when she checked me she felt like I had made enough progress to keep me and break my water, thank goodness! (she is the Best dr I hope She delivers all my kids) Oh my word they were right I did have a Ton of fluid, it just kept coming and coming! That was around 6:30 and that was all it took to get things really going within minutes the contractions were getting way stronger by 8 I asked for the epidural and it was about 8:45 before it was in! I was dilated to a 6. Through all of this the baby's heart would drop when I was contracting and they said depending on how it all went I would maybe need a c section. That of course made me nervous but we would just have to wait and see. It was about 1 am Sunday morning before I was at a 10 but wasn't quiet completely effaced. By 2 I was ready! They called the Dr and she got there @ 2:10 went to check and was like whoa ya the head is right there lets go! It was different this time because I could Feel the pressure and knew exactly when I needed to push! I started pushing about 2:15 and at 2:22 JADEN ROBERT GOODMAN was born! It was such a relief to hold him in my arms to know that everything was fine with him and no c section was needed! When the Dr delivered him she kept calling him a brute! She even showed us the umbilical cord and how it only had the one artery. It was cool to see his artery was almost right in the middle she said that was probably why he wasn't small. The nurse took him and I swear she was taking her sweet ol time cleaning him and stuff before she ever weighed him! Right before she went to weigh him he peed all over so who knows if that would have changed his weight but he was 9LB even (guess all the ultra sounds were off he was BIGGER) his head was 37.5 cm and he was 20in long! I feel like there were so many little miracles that happened that made it so this little guy could get here 10 days early and I am so grateful for that. I don't think I could have delivered much bigger!
I was the only one having a baby that night/morning, so there was no rush to get me into the recovery room! Chris went home around 5 am to get a little sleep since it had been 24hrs of being awake by that time! They got me moved to recovery and Chris came back around 8 and then Paetyn came around 9! She got the biggest smile on her face when she walked into the room and saw the baby! At first when we asked if she wanted to hold him she said "uh no thanks he's to heavy!" Haha, but that didn't last long. I can say that I am honestly shocked at how well Paetyn handled having a new addition to our family she has been so sweet to him and a big help to me! If you ask her what the baby's name is she says Jaden Robin Hood. Haha it cracks us up every time guess Robert and Robin are similar. I was really worried it would be such an adjustment for her and that she might be mean to him, but it has been the total opposite. We were in the hospital until Tuesday and when I came home my mom had come to help for a few days, she is seriously the best. She would cook, clean, and just do whatever. It's always so nice to have her come and help me. I don't know what I'd do with out her. My mother in law was also a huge help, she would come and get Paetyn whenever and help with the baby or groceries basically everything:) I'm so lucky that she lives so close because I couldn't have done it with out her either! Jaden is 6 weeks today and growing like a weed we love him and feel so blessed to be able to have him be apart of our family! He had an ultra sound on his kidneys and bladder and then an ekg and appointment with a cardiologist! His Dr. wanted us to get these done just as a precaution to make sure everything was Ok for certain! Everything came back good so nothing to worry about, guess the artery was just a weird thing, but didn't cause any damage! Life has been busy but honestly it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be; that being said we have still had rough days, but all in all things have been awesome! My pictures are out of order but this is what we've been up to lately.

It has been raining alot here lately and we LOVE it

Paetyn insists on picking her own clothes and its a battle I choose not to fight at this stage in life. It has been nearly impossible to get her to wear this shirt on the same day as Jaden wears his and this was the best picture i could get.

Paetyn all ready for church waiting for dad to come home and get her since me and Jaden weren't going yet.

This guy seriously deserves an award for the BEST dad and husband ever! He would come to the hospital early every morning before work and then stay late into the night so i could get a little sleep since the hospital doesn't have a nursery anymore:( He seriously changed more diapers in the hospital then I did as soon as he would get there he would take over and do whatever was needed! He has been so much help to me and I really don't know how I got so lucky! PS he loves having a Boy.

This is one of the many things I love about Jaden he loves to be all waded up and snuggle

He is such a sweet boy

"The boy"

Pretty sure everyone already knows but we are expecting baby #2! We found out back in February that it's a little boy, Chris couldn't be more excited! He is frequently referred to as "my boy" or "the boy" it's like he's the coveted child:)haha! I wasn't to sure at first what we were going to do with a boy guess i've gotten used to Paetyn but i've gotten pretty excited too. I've been surprised at how many cute little boy things are out there that i didn't realize before. This next little spot is for journaling I plan on printing this and i want to be able to remember the things going on feel free to skip ahead it could get long. When I found out I was pregnant my first reaction was excitement and that lasted about 2 minutes then I worried how Paetyn would handle a baby or how I would handle 2 kids for that matter. Of course I was still excited, but now I not only have Paetyn to think of but a baby too. I still worry some guess thats just part of being a mother But am excited to see what the future holds. Pretty much ever since our first sonogram things have been a little crazy. At the first sonogram we found out that he has a single umbilical artery. Neither one of us had ever heard of that before and of coarse were nervous. Basically an umbilical cord is supposed to have 2 arteries and one vein and his only has 1 artery. They don't know why it happens or anything like that. We met with a specialist the next week and he was able to rule out some of the more serious things and said his heart look really good we just mainly needed to watch his growth now (it can cause babies to be small). Because of the artery I have to get ultra sounds more frequently to make sure everything is looking the way it should! At my 32 Week ultra sound the baby was huge and not proportioned with lots of extra fluid so they wanted me to do the extra diabetic testing and it came back completely normal. Then at my 36 week ultra sound he was weighing 8lbs and in the 96th percentile. From what I hear the ultra sound can be off + or - a pound so who knows but either way he is growing a lot! This whole experience has just made me realize more than ever that babies really are a miracle that somethings just can't be explained and that the lord is in charge! I know this little guy is pretty special he's already made a big scene and he's not even here yet:) I love him and know no matter what happens everything is going to be just fine. I only have a little more then 2 weeks left hopefully sooner but I cant wait to meet him.

His little foot

proof he's a boy;)

My parents came through town on Thursday and begged to take Paetyn up north with them for a few days, I'm always hesitant to let her go, guess I'm kind of over protective of her. Anyway I gave in and decided it might be a fun thing for her to do before the baby comes and life gets a little more hectic. She has been playing with cousins, going to the rodeo, and honestly who knows what else! Any time I call she is having to much fun to even talk to me:( Guess she doesn't miss me like I miss her. This Picture is from yesterday morning Don't you just love her hair from the night before and the look on her face? I do! I miss her and can't wait for her to come home today!

I HATE this picture but it's the only one I have of being pregnant and I don't plan on taking Another one. This was at 36 weeks

Fishing,zoo and much more

Here i am once again months later updating our blog. I know I am really bad at this... Anyway here are a few of the things we have been up to over the past few months.

This was from memorial day weekend we met up with some friends at a splash pad

Every once in a while a dove gets into our chicken coop and can't get out,This last time chris thought it would be cool if Paetyn got to pet it. As you can tell she thinks its the coolest thing ever:)

Easter morning

This year i was really excited to color easter eggs with Paetyn because she is getting older and i figured she would really be into it. She had fun but was over the whole thing after doing a few eggs.

Chris' 26th Birthday! The day started with Breakfast in bed then of coarse he worked all day but later that night we had a family dinner out at his parents house.

Back in march we made A trip down to mesa for spring break. We did lots of shopping the zoo and just hanging out.

I bought these sunglasses for Paetyn while we were in mesa every time she wears them it makes me smile.

My Grandpa died a few moths back and this cowboy hat was his. I actually got it for the baby but for now Paetyn loves to wear it and I cant help but smile and think of him whenever I see her wearing it.

About a month ago we decided we would take Paetyn fishing she has never been before and figured it would be a fun little outing. It was so fun to watch her start by just dipping her toes in and work up to being covered by the water past her waist. I started to get a little worried at that point she didn't quite understand that is was just getting deeper and she doesn't know how to swim. Chris was finally able to catch a fish right before we were going to leave Paetyn thought it was so neat until the fish was close then she squealed and hid behind chris:)
